Frequently asked questions
Fusia Ki Jewelry withstands water. Please be advised that while our company is known for durability and the ability to with stand water, Our jewelry does tolerate water by utilizing materials that have supreme tarnish & corrosion resistance. Almost all of our jewelry is composed of 300 series stainless steel, Stainless steel which is known for its exceptional corrosion resistance. When the gold color is infused onto stainless steel, the result is a product that combines the elegance of gold with the durability of stainless steel. The stainless steel base provides a strong and stable foundation, preventing the gold layer from reacting with external elements like moisture, air, or chemicals, which can cause tarnishing in other materials. This being said, please be informed that Fusia Kī’s jewelry is not invincible, and over time, scratches and wear can occur to our jewelry pieces. Please note, there are select pieces in our gallery that are recommended not to be submerged in water, not because they are not able to combat water, but because it may alter the pieces appearance or stone color. These pieces will have the 𒀭 in their description along with the recommendation. Please note* for swimming pools and ocean effects on jewelry may vary depending on the chlorine and sodium chloride levels.
While stainless steel can be a hypoallergenic metal and is known for its low reactivity, it's not completely allergen-free. The amount of nickel leached from stainless steel is minimal, but it can be significant for people with severe nickel allergies. Stainless steel can have small traces of nickel, cobalt, chromium, copper, palladium, and gold. While these traces of metals can sometimes not have an affect at all due to it being in the center of the material, Fusia Ki highly suggests that if you have a strong sensitivity to metals and are use to only wearing solid gold or sterling silver please take caution and maybe even refrain from purchasing our products or look to our items that are sterling silver, argentium, or 12kt & 14kt gold filled. Please make sure you are comfortable with the elements that are integrated within different variations of 300 series stainless steel and the other different materials we incorporate into our jewelry. Please look at our chart for the components in Stainless steel and other metals, as Fusia Kī utilizes these different elements in our jewelry pieces. Please keep in mind ꕤ We do not act as a scholarly resource for any type of information you may find on our website. Please do your own due diligence.
⟡12kt & 14kt Gold filled 5% or 1/20 gold by weight and 90% copper and 10% Zinc on the inside. All the gold is on the surface, which offers product protection from tarnish and wear.
⟡304 Stainless steel is utilized across the board as austenitic stainless steel, known for its superior corrosion resistance and inventiveness. It's a standard "18/8" stainless steel, meaning it usually contains 8% nickel and 18% chromium, also encompassing elements like carbon, silicon, and manganese. This construct gives it great resistance to multiple atmospheric environments and many corrosive components.
⟡316- The carbon content is the major difference between 316 and 316L stainless steel. 316L (L stands for "low") has a significantly lower carbon content than 316, specifically, 316L's carbon content cannot exceed 0.03%, while 316 can have up to 0.08%. The lower the carbon content, the more impenetrable it is to deteriorate and sustains a more corrosion defiance, especially when it comes to heat.
⟡316L - when discussing surgical stainless steel, this is it. Used in medical implants and jewelry because of its low nickel content. 316L stainless steel is usually considered safe for people with metal allergies and is hypoallergenic.
⟡Argentium usually contains 93.5% or more silver, versus 92.5% for sterling silver.
